The theme of this year’s World Science Forum is Investing in Knowledge: Investing in the Future. A ‘Heads of State Panel’ will address the issue of Responsibility for Future Generations while separate sessions focus on such topics as Science and Innovation as a Global Enterprise and Investment in Knowledge on our Environment. On the occasion of World Science Day for Peace and Development, two UNESCO prizes will be awarded, the Sultan Qaboos Prize for Environmental Preservation and the Great-Man Made River International Water Prize for « Water Resources in Arid and Semi-Arid Areas ».
